What do you want? It is just chipboard.

It’s just chipboard. I don’t think it’s going to hold up for long.

On my phone it looked like corten steel! Still, I like them.

We’re not allowed to cut metal, mirrors, acrylic or skin. It’s more for prototyping/ mockups.

Same and same. I was confused how freshly cut steel rusted over so quickly. Either way, I agree. Super cool.

No worries. I'm afraid chipboard wouldn't last long on the Land Rover keys.

Monoprice just traded a CNC laser. It looks like it will only etch aluminum, and cut lighter duty stuff, no steel but still for under 500.

I’ve always wondered what would happen if you laser cut a mirror. I had the opportunity last semester with a piece of acrylic which was mirrored on one side, but I chickened out and did the non-mirror side for fear of creating a black hole or something...

Right?! How else do they expect us to make our suits? With a pizza cutter?

Reminds me of the laser cutters we used to have in studio. I suggest Basswood plywood since (most) plastics and metals are a no-no. Could even double it up for something with a bit more strength.

I have access to a laser cutter too, I’ll probably do an Oppo post later in the week about it.
